The Grundfos MQ is a compact all-in-one pressure boosting unit,
designed for domestic water supply and other boosting or lift
applications. The MQ is a compact and reliable, easy-to-install
pump, with many standard features.

The MQ pump is ideal for pressure boosting from water storage
tanks or from city water supply (maximum 45 psi inlet pressure).
The MQ is also a self-priming multistage centrifugal pump. It can
selfprime from a well depth of down to 26 feet within a
maximum time of 5 minutes.*

The Grundfos’ MQ pump is compact and extremely
easy to install. The pressure switch and tank are
already built into the MQ. Furthermore, it is selfpriming
and water-cooled with a very low noise level.
The outlet pipe connection can be angled up to 5° to
fit your existing pipe-work.
Grundfos’ MQ pump is simple and easy to operate.
The settings are clearly indicated on the user-friendly
control panel with indicator lights for Pump on/off,
auto reset, and an alarm indicating dry running or

Grundfos-sq-sqeThe Grundfos SQ 3″ submersible pumps offer a wide performance range, making it easy to find a model that will suit your individual requirements.

The Grundfos SQ is a compact, 3″ multistage centrifugal pump that can be installed in a borehole no larger than the pump itself. With their built-in electronics, SQ pumps are very easy to install and operate. They guarantee a reliable water supply at all times.

Equipped with permanent magnet motors, these flexible and compact pumps offer excellent efficiency levels and will supply pump heads up to 200 m.

If the SQ pump is connected to the Grundfos CU 301 control box, it enables the creation of a constant pressure water supply.

Planning guide

Pressure reducer

Excessively high or strongly fluctuating inlet pressure requires the installation of a pressure reducer to maintain a constant minimum inlet pressure level. The maximum permissible fluctuation of the inlet pressure is 1.0 bar.

Volume flow

Up to 8 m3/h (111 l/s) system configuration according to DIN 1988 (EN 806); with standby pump up to 16 m3/h (133 l/s), with the standby pumps used for the peak-load operation.

Inlet pressure

The maximum inlet pressure (see Technical data) is to be observed for the system configuration. The maximum inlet pressure is calculated from the maximum unit working pressure minus the maximum pump delivery head at Q = 0.

Low-water cut-out switchgear (WMS)

According to DIN 1988 (EN 806), the installation of a low-water cut-out switchgear is required if the pressure boosting systems are connected directly to a public mains power supply; this prevents the inlet pressure in the mains supply line from dropping to values below 1.0 bar.


The overall system meets the requirements of the following standards and guidelines:

The requirements of the standard EN 806 and those of water supply companies must be met with regard to the electrical components.

The requirements of DIN 1988 (EN 806) are to be observed whenever the pressure boosting system is used or operated.
